On the third Sunday after Pentecost, dedicated to the Synaxis of All Saints of the British Isles, His Grace Bishop Nektarije of London and Great Britain and Ireland celebrated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy at the Cathedral Church of Saint Sava in London. Serving together with His Grace were the Episcopal Dean for Southern Britain, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Dragan Lazić, Georgije Kuzemko and Goran Spaić, while Subdeacons Siniša Mackanja, Simon Tingley and Nenad Kačarević also assisted during the service.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, with the blessing of His Grace, the priest on duty, Goran Spaić, addressed the faithful with an appropriate sermon, interpreting the Gospel message of the day.
Following the dismissal of the Holy Liturgy, Bishop Nektarije addressed the gathered faithful with an instructive word, emphasizing that a Christian is called to vigilance and spiritual attentiveness, and that especially during the days of fasting one must guard against lack of faith and various temptations, which become stronger at such times. His Grace called upon the faithful to continually place their trust in the Lord, who “knows what we need before we ask Him.”
After the holy service, the festive fellowship continued in the large church hall of the Cathedral Church of Saint Sava, in brotherly conversation and the joy of the common gathering.
