Holy Liturgy on the Sunday of All Saints of the British Isles in London

Elected for eOn the third Sunday after Pentecost, dedicated to the Council of All Saints of the British Isles, His Eminence Nectarios, Bishop of London and Great Britain and Ireland, celebrated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the Cathedral Church of St. Sava in London. His Eminence, the Episcopal Dean for Southern Britain, Protopresbyter-Staurophor Dragan Lazić, Georgije Kuzemko and Goran Spaić concelebrated, while the subdeacons Siniša Makanja, Simon Tingley and Nenad Kačarević also assisted during the service.

After the reading of the Holy Gospel, with the blessing of His Eminence, the priest on duty, Goran Spaić, addressed the faithful with an appropriate sermon, interpreting the Gospel message of the day.

After the Divine Liturgy, Bishop Nektarios addressed the gathered faithful with an instructive word, emphasizing that a Christian is called to vigilance and spiritual attention, and that especially during the days of fasting one must beware of lack of faith and various temptations, which become stronger in such times. His Eminence called on the faithful to constantly place their trust in the Lord, who “knows what we need before we ask Him.”

After the sacred service, the festive gathering continued in the large church hall of the Cathedral of Saint Sava, in fraternal conversation and the joy of a joint gathering.
